STUTTGART — Politically motivated crime in Baden-Württemberg has nearly doubled in three years, according to figures reported by IslamiQ on 18 October 2026. The state criminal police office (LKA) recorded 2,601 cases in 2025, up from 1,422 in 2022, IslamiQ said, citing data first reported by SWR.

The largest category involved offences linked to unconstitutional symbols, with 1,523 cases in 2025. The LKA also recorded 365 cases of incitement of the people, 239 cases of criminal damage and 186 cases of insult, according to IslamiQ.

IslamiQ reported that politically motivated violent crime also rose sharply. Authorities registered 36 cases in 2022, 52 in 2023, 56 in 2024 and 104 in 2025. Most of the violent cases were bodily injury offences. For 2025, the LKA counted 69 cases of bodily injury and 22 cases of serious bodily injury, IslamiQ said.

The source said the figures alone do not show how many offences had a far-right motive. Offences of this kind can be linked to far-right ideologies and the spread of propaganda, but the data does not show the share, IslamiQ reported. The report did not give further detail on motives.

Background

The figures cover politically motivated crime, a wider category than far-right crime. IslamiQ said the breakdown by political motive and the development of far-right violence are needed to assess the scale of far-right offences more closely. Based on the figures cited, the LKA data show a steady rise in violent cases each year since 2022.
