Editorial standards

Accuracy before speed

  • A story is published only when the core facts appear in at least two independent sources, or come from an official statement.
  • Claims that rest on a single source are attributed and described as claims.
  • Numbers, names, dates and places are taken from sources and linked.

Fair and factual language

  • We describe events in neutral, factual language and avoid loaded adjectives.
  • Where there are two sides, we include both responses where they are available.
  • We use consistent names for places and events across every story.

Care with people

  • We protect the identity of children and of victims of violence.
  • We do not publish graphic images of violence or of the dead.
  • We do not publish hate speech, insults or sexual content.

Images

We only use images we have the right to use: licensed agency photos, official handouts, openly licensed archives, or posts embedded through the platforms' own tools. Every image carries its source and licence.

Independence

No advertiser, sponsor or donor decides what we cover or how. Sponsored content, if we ever publish it, is labelled clearly.
